Yeronga State High School is turning 50 years old next year and plans are underway to celebrate this milestone from Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th April 2010.

The Jubilee Planning Meeting  comprises of past students, past staff, current staff members and friends of Yeronga High (parent of current student).  So a great mix of people.

However in order to have a great reunion, we need lots of input, ideas and a helping hand.  Remember, this is OUR school reunion and you’ve registered at www.yerongahighalumni.com because you care.

The plan for the weekend of celebration is….

Friday 23  April 2010
A whole school celebration engaging with past students and staff commencing 1.30 p.m.  Perhaps past students with work commitments  may be able to leave early on Friday and enjoy the festivities.
Saturday 24  April 2010 A Back to Yeronga Day.  ALL students and ALL  staff are welcome to come back to school and  meet up with old classmates and friends.    There will be a room dedicated to school and  student memorabilia from the past five decades      and lots of old photos.  The catch-ups continue into the evening where we  are sourcing a venue close by for casual eating,   drinking and chatting.   An idea is to have a DJ   who will play music we all grew up with over the  past fifty years (I‘m hoping for a bit of Bay City   Rollers).
Sunday 25  April 2010 ANZAC Day has always held a special place for the students of Yeronga State High School and on  this occasion, after the ceremony in Yeronga Park,  students are welcome to return to the school for a  farewell BBQ breakfast.

So….. are you able to

  • Sift through your cupboards and see if you have any old stuff from your high school days.   I have my old green sports uniform and grey & green check blouse and grey tunic and some old photos I took at school in 1977.  Have a look - perhaps you have old school ties or the old beret or school badges, old textbooks, notes you passed to friends.   We will take great care of your possessions and they will be on display in our specially assigned JUBILEE ROOM.
