Our school was officially opened on Friday, 23 April in 1960 and all are invited to come together this year to celebrate its 50th year.

1.30 – 2.35 p.m. ... School Hall, Oakwood Street Entrance.
All past students, staff and their families are invited to join the
current students, staff and school community to celebrate this
important milestone.
Our very special guests will include the Foundation Students – those who commenced in 1960.
Roll Call – the Principal will call the roll for the Class of 1960.
Guest speakers from each of the decades will provide us with a snapshot of life at YSHS.

Current students will showcase their choral talents.
An extensive display depicting the past 50 years of YSHS.
Relive your school days with the vast memorabilia display – you will think you are back in the classroom again when you
- See your grey tunic and green check blouse on display;
- re-discover that old history or typing textbook;
- take a moment to remember our school mates who are no longer with us at our Remembrance Wall;
- view a fantastic collection of old school ties and hat bands;
- put names to the faces in the hundreds of photos;
- and celebrate the love that students found at YSHS at Sweethearts Corner.
Purchase a reminder of your day at YSHS with a selection of
commemorative Sirromet wines; glasses; coffee mugs and an outstanding
and comprehensive book celebrating our 50 years.

10.00 – 3.00 pm ... Yeronga SHS is all yours!!
Take a tour of the school and relive your memories from classrooms
past. There will a room set up for each of the past 50 years – you are
bound to bump into someone you know.
- Official opening of our celebrations will take place at 11.00 am in the school Hall.
- A variety of food and drinks will be available throughout the day as well as the commemorative merchandise.
7.00 pm – Late .... What’s a 50th birthday without a party!
Venue: Sports Centre, Yeronga SHS
Cost: $30.00 per person (drinks not included)
Great food, drink, entertainment and conversation
Great Food: A fantastic local restaurant will provide hot and cold canapés
Great Drink: A bar will provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
Great Entertainment: One Night Only!!
THE THIRD HOUR will be performing just for us.
Past students from the late 60s may recall the band that played at the ’68 Speech Night .... well – they’re back!

Saturday Night Fever lives again ... professional DJ and past student
Kevin Grannum will provide a great mix of music through the decades.
